#365 Country Pig

Country Pig is a large and colorful puzzle done in my spiral cut. Areas of pink and a checkerboard pattern frame the large pig in the center. A farmhouse, barn and trees can be seen in the distance and the print is further embellished with corn and cornstalks.. It will make a very interesting puzzle to solve.

There is an average of 1.5 pieces per square inch. Puzzle has been handcut from 1/4" 5-ply Baltic Birch, a very strong wood that will last for generations to come! See enlarged side view below. I cut this puzzle by hand, carefully guiding the wood into the thin blade of a scroll saw, cutting off one piece at a time, using blades with a thickness of just 0.008! Approximate size is 15 1/2" X 19 5/8"

There are 13 figurals including 2 "enhanced" figurals (note interior cuts in lovebirds and rose), 1 complex (3 piece) color line cut figural (the barn), and my "key" signature piece (signed, numbered, and dated on the back.)

Cut in my Spiral Cut - this is my 50th spiral cut puzzle to date! I don't do as many of them because they take longer to cut. In fact, I rarely do puzzles this large in this particular cutting style because the initial cuts are very difficult to make (even with my 20" saw), as the wood needs turned 360 all the way around! Thus, most of my spiral cut puzzles are much smaller than this one. I also don't usually include this many figurals in my spiral cut puzzles (many times I don't include any at all); this one is unique in many ways.

Interlocks well overall but not every piece is fully interlocking. Some pieces fell out when turning the puzzle over for photos.

Puzzle will come disassembled inside the beautiful wood box with sliding lid shown below. Made from solid pine (sides) and 3-ply Birch (lid and bottom) and finished. My label is affixed to the outside of the box with the puzzle title, number, and piece count.

Note: This puzzle contains small pieces which may present a choking hazard to children. It has been designed for adults or older children and is not meant for young children.
